Offline User: Fear. Fear is the one thing that exhausts me the most. The screech from the Tainted gives you a little more than the synonymous high pitched wail. There is something hidden, always. It is often unheard, the second voice, the moan of pain and suffering unique from the host. It is that air of familiarity that one can recognize if they've known them before. It's that humanness...
Even though it is faint, when you notice it, you get a wave of remorse that really hits you when it sounds like theres someone trapped within. You think, "they're just sick, unable to get better," and it gives you this false hope that there might be a cure, a chance to get back what you lost...
Offline User: What really scares me is the lack of effort we take to check and see if the group is really ok. My father told me he witnessed a change in the behavior of the Tainted. Before there were no tricks. Before they just slashed and dragged bodies away for their converting, for their swarm. Before we were told to run and shoot and hide and hope that they wouldn't follow. My father noticed that they were adapting, talking, acting human. Everyone else wanted to run, but he hid and studied.
Offline User: A few months after he mentioned this, mother started to act strangely around everyone. I didn't know why, but I was horrified. I was horrified by the way she would look at me, comforting me while giving me this blank stare, like she didn't care anymore. I had nightmares of her grinning with violent wrinkles in her face paired with an intense look in her eyes. I then realized I wasn't having nightmares. I secretly peeled my eyes open when she comforted me the third time. I didn't understand why she made such a horrible face, and as soon as I fully opened my eyes, that monotone look would instantly flush over.
What scares me is the fact that they keep their memories and use it against us.

I stood by him, watching his face, watching for the slight jerks and motions that one gets when they are infected. Alice used her crystal shard to see if there would be any sort of surge. The results were negative. Francois must have had a bad pack of the food. Although the mushroom farms were placed throughout the safe zones, there's always a chance for something to go wrong. I'll have to investigate it. My weapon is loaded, and if you're somehow reading this still, saw blades are the part of me that ignores the momma poppa bullshit. I'm ready for a family reunion.
